@Sharon Thanks! Yes, the boy is quite the good-looking chap (smile).
@Pjazzy, Actually, these pictures are all several years old (smile). I try not to post current pictures of the kid. But on last check, baby boy was 125lbs and almost as tall as me (smile).
Lori D. Johnson has an M.A. in Urban Anthropology from the University of Memphis. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including The Forge Literary Magazine, Midnight & Indigo, SFWP Quarterly, The Root and Mississippi Folklife. Her recent honors include NELLE Literary Journal’s 2024 “Three Sisters Award” for creative non-fiction, an honorary mention in the 2024 Chapter One Prize of the Gutsy Great Novelist and a 2021 Pushcart Prize nomination by Novel Slices. She lives in Charlotte, NC, but still considers Memphis, TN home.
